Nigeria’s male basketball team The Tigers will be playing their opening game at this year’s Afro Basketball qualifying tournament holding in Tunisia and Egypt .
Nigerias, THE Tigers who are billed to play their qualifiers in Tunisia, was earlier reported to have pulled out of the tournament due to funds issues . The latest information and confirmation indicate that all the issues have been resolved and the team is fully ready to travel .
The confirmation came from the secretary general of the Nigerian basketball federation, Mr Peter Njoku, who said Nigeria will play its opening. He further stated that the report of Nigeria pulling out of this year’s Afro Basketball qualifying tournament was hasty as the issues concerning the trip were still ongoing when the premature information was released.
The secretary thanked all those who showed concern to facilitate the process.
