Super Eagles B coach, Daniel Ogunmodede has called on Nigerians to come in numbers as Nigeria host Ghana in Uyo on Saturday, Sports247 reports.
The Super Eagles B will be negotiating for a return to the CHAN, when Super Eagles B faces their Ghanaian counterparts at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday.
The CHAN is competition exclusively reserved for home based professional footballers by the Confederation of Africa Football, CAF.
Nigeria missed the last edition in Cote d’ivoire when she was defeated by Ghana on penalties after a stalemate over two legs.
Ironically, both countries are replaying the scenario, will it be revenge for Nigeria or will history repeat itself in favour of Ghana? The questions will be answered after ninety minutes in Uyo where a winner has to emerge after the first leg ended goalless.
The Coach of the Nigerian team is leaving no stone unturned after he confirmed the teams physical and mental readiness, he is banking on the effect of the fans at stadium by calling on Nigerians to come out en masse to support the Super Eagles to victory.
” We are prepared physically, mentally and psychologically for this match. Our special plea is for the fans to troop out on Saturday to come and support the boys,” Ogunmodede told the press on Friday.
He wants Nigeria football fans to emulate their Ghanaian counterparts who came out in large numbers to support the Black Galaxies in the first leg, a gesture which gave the Ghana players extra strength and motivation.
” The Ghanaians came out in large numbers to support their team in the first leg and this imbued their players with extra energy and aggression,” Ogunmodede explained.
The 8th edition of the CHAN will be hosted in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda next year.
