Former Nigerian U20 international Oloyede Taiwo has reassured fans that the nation is well-prepared for the upcoming U20 AFCON. Speaking recently on the Flying Eagles’ prospects, Taiwo emphasized that “they are not new” to the competition.
He commended Coach Aliyu Zubairu for his dedicated leadership, noting that the gaffer is supported by skilled professionals, including capable psychologists who are boosting the players’ morale and mental preparedness.

“They are not new. The man in charge of the helm of affairs there, Aliyu Zubairu, is trying his best, and I believe they have good psychologists who can motivate them psyche them up and assist in gearing them up for the competition.
They will have one of two capable hands that will come and train with them so that they can learn more about the integrity of African football.”
Taiwo also highlighted the added advantage of having experienced players from the Nigerian Premier League within the squad. “Some of them are very experienced players in the Nigerian professional league, and I believe we shall get there,” he said.
His remarks reinforce the confidence in the team’s blend of youthful potential and professional experience, a combination Taiwo believes will help Nigeria advance in the prestigious tournament.
