Honorable Minister of Youth and Sports Barr Solomon Dalung has insisted that Preparation for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo Japan must be set right as his administration is already working on ensuring Nigerian athletes have a best of time in the summer Olympics.
Nigerian athletes experienced lots of discouraging experiences going into the last edition of the Games in 2016 in Rio de Jeniero Brazil with the country winning just one medal in football, a bronze medal.
The minister had already stated that preparation for the Games will begin early in order to avoid a recurrence of the woes that befell the team in Brazil in 2016.
The Nigerian U-23 team was one of the highly affected teams at the Olympics where they encountered flight delays which made the team arrive the venue of their match on the day of their first game.
Dalung has revealed that budgetary allocation has been made to the relevant authorities and it is only awaiting approval so that preparation will be hitch free for all the participating sports.
