Team Nigeria’s Contingent won three Gold, one Silver and two Bronze medals at the just concluded World Taekwondo G2 Tournament held in Niger Republic.
In the heavyweight male category, Benjamin Okuomose won Gold, while Olapeju Oyebanji won Gold too in the female class.
Chinazum Nwosu carted home Gold in the featherweight class for female and Henry Nzelu emerged Silver medalist in Middleweight category for men.
Arinola Olawale snatched Bronze in the Flyweight Male category, while 2017 African Para Taekwondo Champion, Samson Ukpera who is making a return to the sport after a long time out got a Bronze medal as consolation for his efforts.
A delighted President of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation Saidu Abdullahi alongside his board members congratulated the victorious fighters for doing the nation proud.
Abdullahi also expressed satisfaction with the contingent on their new feat and promised the Federation is bent on discovering and nurturing more Para Taekwondo fighters due to their enormous potentials that has remained untapped over the years.
This is the first international outing of the Saidu Abdullahi led board of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation and the President has urged for concerted efforts by stakeholders in the Sport to propel the Nigeria Taekwondo to great heights in Africa.
