The National Sports Festival will go ahead in Abuja in December, as is currently planned, according to permanent secretary in the Ministry of Youth & Sports, Olusade Adeshola.
Amidst rising concern that the much-postponed festival will against be shifted Adeshola told sports247.ng that such fears are baseless.
Adeshola further revealed that concrete plans are on ground to ensure a successful hosting of the festival in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)).
Adeshola, who is chairman of the Local Organising Committee for the festival also revealed that he received more assurances after holding a meeting with the sports minister, Barrister Solomon Dalung.
He stressed: “I can assure you that we are not resting on our oars to ensure a successful hosting of the National Sports Festival in Abuja.”
