The president of Nigerian Rugby Football Federation (NRFF), Ademola Are has sent a passionate appeal for financial support to the National Sports Commission (NSC) in order for players, coaches and officials under his charge to create a vibrant impact, Sports247 reports.
The veteran sports administrator and former zonal director disclosed that Nigerian rugby has grown in leaps and bounds across recent years, but conceded that they can get better and sail over all rivals from other African countries only if they have total support from the NSC.
While going on to specifically mention the offices of NSC chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko and the director-general, Bukola Olopade, Are stressed that no progress will be made without commensurate backing from the nation’s sports sanctioning body.
Are reasoned, “We can overrun all these countries because we have the players. All we are looking for, praying for, and trying to get is the full cooperation of the management of the National Sports Commission.
We are doing our best, but with their full backing, things would be easier. With the DG being on our side, the chairman being on our side, and the willingness to take care of our financial needs, we will fly high,” Are predicted
