There is jubilation in the camp of Nigerian internationals plying their trade in Europe and other parts of the world as the Federal Government of Nigeria are ready to evacuate her citizens abroad.
Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed all its missions abroad to compile a list of Nigeria in their host country who are ready to come back home.
The chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa told news men that this is in response to the huge appeal by Nigerians stranded abroad due to the outbreak of the corona virus pandemic.
She however said that the financial implications will be borne by the prospective evacuees who will be compulsorily be quarantined when they return.

The head of Media and Public Relations Unit NIDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, said that interested citizens should inform the embassy in their country of residence about their intention to return to Nigeria.
It has earlier been reported by Sports247 that some countries had earlier evacuated their citizens from Nigeria through emergency fight permitted by the Nigerian federal government. The U.S, U.K Germany, France and Israel are the most noticeable countries to evacuate their citizens from Nigeria.
As the news broke, couple of Nigerian internationals abroad jumped into jubilation and breathe a sigh of relief. John Ogu and Oghenekaro Etebo were the most notable players who celebrated this move by the federal government. Ogu commented “God is good o” as though he has been waiting for this opportunity. He also shared a comment with Etebo saying “I swear o God heard us”.
The pandemic which have gained ground in Europe’s biggest countries in terms of football has not made much progress, at least not yet, in Africa. though concerned government agencies are said to be on their toes to curtail the spread. As it stands, there are about 1,118,844 cases in the world today. With about 59,236 death recorded worldwide. In Nigeria, there are now 210 cases, 4 death and 25 persons who have recovered from COVID 19 already.
