Nigeria Pillar of Sports Pledges More And Partnerships For Sports Development

The Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, has reaffirmed his commitment to partnering with relevant stakeholders to promote sports development in Nigeria, Sports247 reports.

He assured that his unwavering dedication to the growth of sports would remain steadfast.

Chief Ejidike made this statement on Friday evening during an Iftar (breaking of fast) gathering organized by his office for key sports stakeholders at the Kwara FA House, George Inih Stadium, Ilorin.

He emphasized that his office would continue to invest in human and capital resources to foster the advancement of sports in Nigeria. He also highlighted that the Iftar symbolized unity of purpose among stakeholders and served as a platform to strengthen peace within the sports community.

“I thank you all for honoring our invitation to this Iftar, the first in the series by my office as the Nigeria Pillar of Sports. This initiative will be expanded and sustained next year,” he remarked

In his remarks, Chairman of Kwara FA, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya, appreciated Chief Ejidike for the gesture, noting that sports development is a collective responsibility.

“Kwara State belongs to all of us, and we must do everything humanly possible to positively project it, especially in the area of sports,” he stated.

Veteran broadcaster and Olympian, Mallam Hammed Adio, also commended Chief Ejidike, describing sports as a universal tool for peace, friendship, and human development. He urged the Nigeria Pillar of Sports to continue his good work in fostering sports growth nationwide.

Similarly, Director of Football at ABS FC, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, and Kwara SWAN Chairman, Ayodeji Ismail, acknowledged Chief Ejidike’s efforts in partnership and collaboration across Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Kwara YSFON Chairman, Mr. Demola Kiyesola, appealed to the Nigeria Pillar of Sports to extend his investments and partnerships to grassroots sports development in Kwara State.

Also in attendance at the Iftar was Hajia Segilola Alaya, a board member of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), along with other top sports administrators.
