Orlando Pirates’ head coach Mandla Ncikazi has described Nigeria as a beautiful place after seeing his side tackle RSB Berkane at the Godswill Akpabio stadium Uyo yesterday.
Pirates lost the game on penalties 5-4 after both teams played a goalless draw in regulation time and a dramatic 1-1 at extra time.
Asked by reporters in the post match presser what he thought about the two legged finals that has caused a stir in recent weeks, Ncikazi said “I still think the one leg final is the appropriate thing.”
“It gives a neutral venue option compared to a two legged final, you know when you go away in another country anything is possible. For me, the venue in Nigeria is appropriate, the treatment in Nigeria is appropriate, the support in Nigeria is appropriate.”
Orlando Pirates are finishing second in the CAF Confederation Cup for a second time after losing to Etoile du Sahel in the finals in 2015.
