Nigeria made it a hat trick of victories and have qualified for the final of the IHF Women’s Trophy Africa Continental Phase, which is ongoing in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, after defeating Rwanda 38-30 on Thursday.

The national under-18 girls’ team expected a tough encounter against Rwanda and it showed in the first half wherein Nigeria edged their opponent with a narrow 18-15 score after an end-to-end fantastic game of handball from both sides.
The second half saw some tactical change and Nigeria was more purposeful in defense as they won the half 20-15 to ensure a 38-30 victory.
Nigeria’s Prudence Onyinyechukwu Samuel was named the Most Valuable Player of the IHF Women’s Trophy Africa Continental Phase Final match.
Nigeria will play in the final most likely against Guinea on Saturday at exactly 3 pm.
