As the ongoing Women’s World Cup takes place in Australia and New Zealand, the NFF’s Director of Media and Communications, Ademola Olajire, spoke from Australia, acknowledging that the federation still owes some of the players’ bonuses from before the tournament.

Explaining the situation, Olajire stated that none of the teams participating in the FIFA Women’s World Cup have received their allowances yet, as FIFA has not yet disbursed the funds.

The Nigeria Football Federation also revealed that it has been facing significant financial challenges, making it difficult to pay the players’ bonuses for some friendly games played in preparation for the World Cup.

Managing over nine national teams requires substantial financial resources, and the NFF has been grappling with financial constraints. Despite the difficulties, the federation remains committed to resolving the outstanding allowances for the Super Falcons as soon as FIFA releases the grants for teams participating in the Women’s World Cup.

The reassurance from the NFF comes as a relief to the players, who have been eagerly awaiting their bonuses.

The Super Falcons’ dedication and hard work in representing the nation on the global stage deserve recognition and fair compensation.

As the tournament progresses, the players can focus on giving their best performance, knowing that their outstanding allowances will be settled once the much-needed FIFA grants are received.

Nigeria’s national women’s football team, the Super Falcons, will undoubtedly be eager to receive their dues, and the NFF’s commitment to fulfilling its financial obligations will serve as motivation for the players to continue striving for success at the Women’s World Cup.
