The Super Eagles’ head coach position became vacant following the departure of Jose Peseiro, who left the role after his contract expired on February 29, 2024. Peseiro had led the team to a second-place finish at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote D’Ivoire. Despite speculation about a possible reappointment, it appears that Peseiro’s two-year tenure with the NFF has come to an end.
The Nigeria Football Federation is seeking a passionate and experienced football coach ready to take on the challenge of leading the national team. The requirements for the position include a relevant coaching qualification, proven experience at the elite level of football management, a successful track record of leading teams, and knowledge of African football.
Similarly, the Nigeria Football Federation has also advertised the vacant coaching position for the National U-17 Men’s Team, the Golden Eaglets. The team, last handled by Nduka Ugbade, had a disappointing outing at the last U-17 AFCON championship. The Federation is now considering a new coach to take charge of the team and guide them to success on the international stage.
Interested and qualified candidates for both positions are invited to send their applications to Job@nff.com. The deadline for applications is 6 pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
This development marks a new chapter in Nigerian football as the NFF seeks to fill these crucial roles and steer the teams towards future successes.
