The Golden Arrows of Nigeria won their first match of the 25th Africa Men Senior Handball Championship with an emphatic 35-17 victory over Zambia in Egypt
On the back of disappointing results against Tunisia and Cape Verde which ensured that Nigeria’s hope of reaching the quarter finals and a chance for a world championship ticket was dashed, the Coach Rafiu Salami’s side were in a business – like mood as they did everything right and won the first half 19-9
Nigeria continued the onslaught in the second half against the Zambians who didn’t have an answer, to score 16 more goals to their opponent’s 8 goals which gave the Golden Arrows a 35-17 victory.
With this win, Nigeria are favourably placed amongst the teams participating in championship.
The team will play Senegal in another placement match on Saturday at 11:30am.
