Nigeria Cricket Federation Set Mobilisation In Motion

Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) have unfolded more details about the mobilisation programme they set in motion last weekend in Abuja.

Throwing more light on the development, NCF board member from the North Central zone, Oludare Ayemola said it will be a continuous project to criss-cross the entire country.

Ayemola told sports247.ng that 20 states across the federation will get to benefit from the programme.

He declared: “The aim is to introduce cricket to schools in the country so that students can pick up interest in playing the game even to global and professional levels.”

On his part, NCF president, Professor Adams Ukenya urged students of 12 years old and above to take up interest of playing cricket.

Ukenya told sports247.ng that it is an ideal idea for students to adopt cricket as a sport, as it will help them to develop socially, mentally, psychologically and physically.

He made this remark in Abuja while launching phase one of the NCF mobilization program, which he said is aimed at introducing the game to Nigerian secondary schools nationwide.

Ukenya stated: “The intention of the federation is to make children active by playing cricket, starting from their days in school.”
