Nigeria Combat Games 2024 Promises Martial Arts Spectacle

Nigeria is set to host the inaugural Nigeria Combat Games 2024 from November 25 to December 1, as announced by Dr. Musa Oshodi, Vice Chairman and Judo President.

This event aims to unite various combat sports under one banner, enhancing the visibility and competitiveness of Nigerian athletes globally. Dr. Oshodi emphasized collaboration among different martial arts disciplines, inspired by the structure of the World Combat Games held in Saudi Arabia in 2023.

The event will showcase a diverse lineup of sports, including armwrestling, boxing, fencing, judo, karate, kickboxing, mixed martial arts (MMA), strongman competition, taekwondo, and wrestling. Scheduled activities will begin with participant arrivals and a federation meeting on November 25, followed by competitions from November 26 to November 30. The event will conclude with participant departures on December 1.

An organizing committee has been appointed to ensure the smooth execution of the games. This committee, chaired by various sports leaders and professionals, is dedicated to meticulously planning all aspects of the event, from athlete accommodation to security, aiming to deliver a world-class experience for participants and spectators alike.

The Nigeria Combat Games 2024 represents not only a sporting competition but also a celebration of martial arts diversity and excellence, aimed at solidifying Nigeria’s presence in the global arena of combat sports.
