Nigeria Baseball And Softball Association Set To Host U12 Softball And U15 Softball Tournament In Lagos

The Nigeria Baseball and Softball Association Inc., have sanctioned to Host the U12 softball and U15 Softball Tournament in Badagry, Lagos.

Mrs. Bola Rashedat Abdulraham the President of Badagry Angels Little League will play host with the NBSA Competitions Taskforce extensively.

They will be guided by the template prepared for standard competitions by the Taskforce.

Badagry is sure to feature NAOWA Hitters-U12 softball; Kwara Slidders-U12 softball; Sabo Wuse U-12softball; and others are Oluyole Plate Burners U-12 & U-15softball; Adekalu Bulls U12&U15 softball; and the Badagry Angels U-12 & U-15softball, 9 teams in total from Lagos, Oyo, Kwara and the Federal Capital Territory (F.C.T).

The Tournament which holds from April 20-25, 2021 (Arrival 20th and Departure 25th) at Ibereke Barracks, Badagry would attract potential “Ballplayers” as it is called, and enthusiast from within and across would glue to watch the money-spinning game of Asia and the Americans.

Only registered Clubs are allowed to participate in any NBSA sanctioned program.

Eligible U-12 softball and U-15 softball players would be allowed to take part after proper screening is conducted.

Our host Mrs. Abdulrahaman has agreed to Feed and accommodate teams consisting of 14 players, 2 Coaches and 1 Umpire each per team.

The tournament in
Badagry will also provide medical support to prevent injuries and observe the Covid-19 protocols.

The President, Dr. William Boyd has approved the recommendation of the Technical Commission Chairman, Mr. Jide Abidoye to appoint Mr. Jacob Albert-Dede as the Tournament Director, while Mr. John Obiakpani assigned the Chief Umpire.

The Executive Committee are united and glad to see that talks are worked together with Members to kick-start the 2021 program as planned.

The Little league is an integral part of the development of the game; aimed at developing the cognitive sense of these kids to ensure that they always do their best, play fair, win or lose, the best practice is to be applied.

The NBSA have agreed to provide tournament equipment and certificate to the participating teams, Trophies, and Medals issued to the winners.
