In a heartfelt addition to the event’s purpose, Jackson revealed that the championship is dedicated to the memory of Mr. Dapo Sotuminu, the late Media Director of the federation.

This year’s tournament also aims to honor all athletes and stakeholders who have supported the growth of armwrestling in Nigeria.

“We are using this championship as a celebration of everyone involved in this sport—athletes, officials, and fans alike,” Jackson added.

The Open Championship is a significant platform for promoting armwrestling, nurturing talent, and uniting enthusiasts from across the nation.
