As we celebrate Christmas, Engr. Samuel Jackson, President of the Nigeria Arm wrestling Federation (NAWF), has extended heartfelt greetings to the Arm wrestling community, urging unity, reflection, and gratitude to God for year 2024.
This year’s message carries a special tribute to the late Mr. Dapo Sotuminu, a pioneer Member of Nigerian Arm wrestling and the Federation’s Media Director, whose passing has deeply affected the sports community.
“Christmas is a time of love, togetherness, and reflection,” Jackson said. “As we celebrate, we remember and honor Mr. Dapo Sotuminu, whose immeasurable contributions laid the foundation for the growth of Arm wrestling in Nigeria.
His legacy inspires us, and this season reminds us to carry forward his passion and dedication.”
Reflecting on the achievements of 2024, Jackson commended the efforts of athletes, officials, and stakeholders who have pushed the sport to greater heights.
He emphasized that the festive season is an opportunity to strengthen the bonds that unite the Arm wrestling family and the broader sports community.
“The passing of Mr. Sotuminu has left a void, but it also challenges us to build on his work and strive for greater success in his honor.
Let us celebrate Christmas by embracing the values he embodied—unity, hard work, and service to others,” Jackson added.
Looking to the future, Jackson expressed optimism about 2025, pledging continued efforts to advance Arm wrestling in Nigeria. He encouraged the community to celebrate responsibly while supporting one another.
“May this Christmas bring joy, peace, and hope to you and your families. Let us enter the New Year with renewed determination to honor Mr. Sotuminu’s legacy and achieve new milestones for our sport,” he concluded.
This Christmas is both a time to celebrate and reflect, as the Federation honors a legend while continuing to grow the sport he helped build.
