The Nigeria Archery Federation says it will hold a National Championship in Abuja in November.
Mohammed Abdullahi, president of the federation said the championship would “re-unite the archery family after a long period of inactivity due to COVID-19’’.
Abdullahi told NAN that the federation would notify states, clubs and institutions like the Armed Forces about the event before the end of the week.
“We are working to resume officially. Our athletes and coaches have been engaging in various activities and training sessions, but as a federation we are yet to resume activities.
“We are looking at organising a national championship in November, we are looking at Nov. 9 to Nov. 14 tentatively for the championship which we believe will reunite the archery family and discover more talents.
“We are expecting about 50 to 60 athletes or maybe less for this tournament and that will be due to the effect of COVID-19.
“The event will spur us back on track and hopefully, a better way to round up the year,’’ he said.
