“At the Nigeria Aquatics Federation, we recognize the boundless potential of our young swimmers. We know that with the right training, mentorship, and opportunities, they can rise to compete at the highest levels, representing Nigeria with pride in the international arena. That is why we have initiated this program—to identify, train, and develop 100 talented swimmers in 2025 within the FCT,” Aliyu stated.

The championship marks the beginning of an exciting journey toward professionalizing Nigerian swimming. This groundbreaking event, running from February 28 to March 1, 2025, is set to make waves in Abuja and beyond.

By focusing on grassroots development, the federation aims not only to enhance competitive performance but also to create a sustainable pipeline of talent for the nation’s future. With plans already underway to provide state-of-the-art coaching and facilities, “Swim to Future” is poised to become a cornerstone event in Nigeria’s sports calendar.
