Nigeria’s under 18 girls began their IHF Trophy Women Africa Zone 3 phase in Ghana on Tuesday with an annihilating 61-16 victory over Liberia on day one of the championship.
Nigeria, who were to play Niger Republic in the very first match of the under 18 category earlier on Tuesday, became paired to play against after Liberia after Niger Republic pulled out of the competition and the organisers decided the path of round robin as against groupings.
And thus the Coach Shittu Agboola Adewunmi’s tutored side faced their opponent at the Tennis Arena of the Accra Sports Stadium and became business like as they did their Business brusquely, destroying Liberia with 61-16 victory.
Nigeria’s Babatunde Taiwo was voted MVP of the match for her superlative performance which was the focal point of the Nigeria’s victory.
