Nigeria 30×30: Tinubu, Bayelsa State Governor To Kick off Fitness Challenge Competition

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri will kick off the Nigeria Independence Day Exercise Patriotic Workout Session themed “Keep Moving, Keep Living Project.

The organizer, Nigeria Fitness Challenge (NFC) will also unveil Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri as the face of the body following his contribution to sponsor the Fitness Day Bill in Nigeria during the 9th National Assembly.

The month-long event tagged Nigeria 30×30 is designed to sensitize Nigerians to the gains of exercise by undertaking 30 minutes of continuous exercise per day for 30 days.

The NFC will also enable people to learn several new physical activities with one goal in mind, to enhance mental health and reduce non-communicable diseases.

Speaking at the Media briefing on Monday in Abuja, President, of Amateur Bodybuilding And Fitness Federation, Soye Elekima said the fitness challenge will commence on 1st October, 2023 with Independence Day Patriotic Workout Session which will include over 1,000 Fitness Classes.

He added that political leaders, celebrities, pastors, imams, and Head of Ministries have also been co-opted to pass the messages across to Nigeria

250 sports halls will be built in fitness villages across Nigeria to allow a free flow of exercise for those who associate themselves with the program.

Also speaking, Deputy Director, of Public Health, Dr. Davies Emmanuel, who represented the Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Health, embraced the exercise saying that regular physical fitness training prevents major killer diseases such as rheumatoid, and osteoarthritis.

It also improves physical conditioning reduces blood sugar, and boosts the immune system.

The Ministry of Health who is in partnership with Fitnesstalkshow communications and the Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation of Nigeria commended the organisers over the initiative to host the shaeupnigeria3X30 fitness challenge.

The Ministry will also engage participants in pep talks on health care.

A major highlight of the event is the IFBB MR. UNIVERSE NIGERIA to be hosted by the Federation. This event will attract bodybuilding and Fitness athletes from all over the world to Lagos.
