He emphasized the cyclical nature of football, where teams learn from their mistakes to improve their performance. Abara acknowledged that Sporting Lagos capitalized on his team’s errors to secure their two goals.
Despite a strong second-half effort by his squad, they couldn’t convert their chances into goals.
“Football is all about repetition of mistakes for you as a team to adjust and take the day or your opponent. Sporting Lagos capitalized on our mistakes and got their two goals, we tried to come back in the second half but we couldn’t take our chances.” He explained.
The match had two distinct halves. In the first, Sporting Lagos exerted pressure, while in the second, it was Niger Tornadoes’ turn to dominate.
The team had initially failed to execute their game plan effectively, allowing their opponents too much freedom in the first half. However, they managed to rectify these issues in the second half.

“As a team you have to map out your strategy before every game, we came up with our game plan, but unfortunately we failed to execute it appropriately, that’s why during the break we had to check our lapses because we gave them too much room to operate in the first half but we were able to curtail that in the second half. The result was the consequences of our mistakes.
As I said earlier we will go back to the drawing board and correct our mistakes before the next game.” Hamza Abdulazeez said while responding to what difference the team made in the second half of the match.
When asked about his strategy for the upcoming game, Abara remained tight-lipped, emphasizing that such plans are internal matters for him and his technical crew. However, he assured that the team would return to the drawing board with the clear goal of winning their next match.
