The Ikon Allah Boys as Niger Tornadoes are fondly called began their campaign in this years Nigeria National League (NNL) in a spectacular fashion as they grind out four goals without conceding any.
The first goal arrived in as early as the fourth minute of play when Oche Josiah connect Lukman Mohammed’s headed pass, as he bends lowest to nod home and put the host ahead.
Approaching the game as instructed by Technical Adviser, Abubakar Bala Mohammed, Tornadoes continued to press and got rewarded in the ninth minute as Oche Josiah again cleverly rose highest to convert from Lukman Mohammed’s corner kick, making it two goals for himself and Two Assists from Lukman Mohammed.
Like wounded lions, the Ikon Allah boys were not done, as Shamsudeen Hashim continue his mesmerizing runs making the visitor rear guard uncomfortable, a foul on Oche Josiah earned the host a Free Kick on the 27th minute of the encounter, Peter Momoh went for the ball, picked it up, kissed and bent it like David Beckham as the visitors goalkeeper had no answer to that well taken free kick, the roller coaster first half ended on a sound footing for the host as the referee sounded his whistle.
On resumption into the second half, Tornadoes took off again from where they left off and continue to torment Shekarau Babes, a foul on Shamsudeen Hashim earned the host a free kick, again Peter Momoh went for it and lope the ball beyond the reach of the goalkeeper to seal a first home win for Niger Tornadoes.
