The executive committee of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has charged the Super Eagles to ensure they get six maximum points from their upcoming matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Sports247 reports that the Eagles are scheduled to play away to Rwanda this Friday and then host Zimbabwe four days later in Uyo, ahead of which the NFF dudclosed thst all efforts to boost victories have been undertaken by their officials.
The Eagles enter the first of the two matches lying lowly in 5th place on the six-team log, and would be seven points behind table-topping Rwanda if they lose Friday’s fixture in Kigali.
Knowing fully that victory away to Rwanda is imperative on Friday, the NFF’s board rose from its meeting in Abuja on those with a stern warning that only maximum points against Rwanda and Zimbabwe would put Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualification aspiration back on track, while also urging all Nigerians to rally round the squad.
This much was highlighted in a communique that was released after the meeting, which equally celebrated recent feats achieved by the youth junior female and male teams (Flamingos and Flying Eagles) as well as preparations for the African Cup of Nations for the men and women teams.
The communique, which noted that a new FIFA Foward 3.0 support venture and Super Esgles’ hostel project would be set in motion this Tuesday in Abuja, revealed that all ‘logistics and general support services’ have been out in place for the national team ahead of both upcoming matches.
“The executive committee charged the players to go all out for thd six points in both matches to boost Nigeria’s qualification hopes. It also called on all Nigerians to support and encourage the team in whatever fair and proper way they are competent to, in order to guarantee victory in both matches,” the communique read in part.
