Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has warned that the federation would invoke sanctions against any state Football Association that fails to conduct its state FA election in compliance with football statues, sports247.ng can report.
The President of Nigeria’s football governing body, Amaju Pinnick warned that the federation would not spare the rod on state football bodies that are caught violating the provisions of football statues.
The NFF President represented by the chairman Zamfara state Football Association and chairman of chairmen, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, during the Kano state Football Association Elective Congress held on Sunday at Porto Golf Resort located in Minjibir LG in the outskirt of the ancient city cautioned that the federation has erected an effective machinery to monitor state FA elections that are scheduled to hold across the country.
According to him, all football activities are regulated by the provisions of its statues, Gusau warned that the federation throughout the course of the state FA elections billed to hold across the country, NFF would not hesitate to sanction those that are liable to have acted in contrast to the provisions of football statues.
He urges those that are aggrieved by the outcome of the state FA elections to always resort to the process laid down by the statues to laid complaints and seek for electoral redress, says Abdulgafar Oladimeji
Gusau appeal to those contesting to occupy football offices to study and comprehend the statues and other bye-laws regulating football activities, he said this would guard them against engaging in acts that are deemed to be contrary to the statues of the game.
Executive member, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Rabiu Inuwa was reelected as the state FA boss, the Chairman of the KSFA Electoral Committee, Barrister Mauruf Yakasai returned Rabiu Inuwa as the unopposed state FA chairman.
Barrister Yakasai said the elections complied with all the laid down provisions that are stipulated in NFF and KSFA statues, declaring that the Rabiu Inuwa secured a renewed four years mandate by securing 55 votes out of the 55 votes cast by the 55 delegates that attended the Elective Congress.
In his acceptance speech, Rabiu Inuwa vows to embrace and work with all football stakeholders in the state.
He said, “ in the spirit of the holy month Ramadan, all those who were penalized for disobey various forms of football laws in the state are hereby forgiven, they should go and sin no more.”
Our correspondent reports that last Friday a Kano state High Court sitting at Miller road issued an Interim Injunction restraining one Sharu Rabiu Ahlan, Mauruf Yakasai, Shehu Buhari, Kano state Football Association and Kano state Sports Commission from conducting the state FA elections.
Our correspondent gathered that former chairman, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN Kano state chapter, Muhammadu Salisu Rabiu in a suit NO K/212/2019 approached the court requesting for an Interim Injunction of the court to halt the elections.
Justice Usman Mallam Na’abba in a ruling dated 24th May, granted the Interim Order as requested by the plaintiff, the judge ordered the matter adjourned to 19th July for the hearing of the motion on notice.
