The National Executive Committee of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) on Tuesday visited the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja.
The visit underscored the role of journalists as key stakeholders in the growth of Nigerian football.

During the meeting, President Gusau stressed the value of collaboration and transparency between the NFF and media professionals, highlighting that such synergy is vital to overcoming the challenges facing Nigerian football.
“I recognize and appreciate the high importance of media professionals towards the actualization of our mission and vision to take Nigeria football to new heights of excellence.
There is the need for us to collaborate and synergize better, in order for us to be able to implement, seamlessly, strategies that will uplift Nigeria football in the interest of all stakeholders,” he stated.
SWAN President, Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, acknowledged the opportunity for dialogue and reaffirmed SWAN’s dedication to providing comprehensive media support for the NFF’s initiatives.
He emphasized the critical role of the NFF in driving football’s growth and assured the body of SWAN’s commitment to amplifying its activities and successes.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from both organizations, including SWAN executives and NFF representatives.
It concluded with a mutual commitment to deepening the partnership to boost football’s prominence and development in Nigeria.
