Dr. Mohammed highlighted the Federation’s ongoing efforts, including the provision of communication gadgets introduced at the start of the current season, and expressed readiness to invest further in modern officiating tools.

Pal Kallsen emphasized Spintso AB’s 15-year expertise in referee equipment production, introducing their latest innovation, the Refcom 11 Communication System, which offers enhanced coaching, sports analysis, and medical team coordination features. The device allows recording and supports up to six participants, making it ideal for training and educational purposes.

Additionally, Kallsen showcased the Spintso Referee Watch S1 and S1 Pro, advanced timekeeping and training monitoring tools designed to enhance referees’ performance. He also highlighted Spintso AB’s ongoing partnerships with several European football associations to improve referee recruitment and development.

As part of its collaboration with Nigeria, Spintso AB has pledged to provide Nigerian referees with the upgraded 6-set Refcom 11 Pro, allowing six officials—including an assessor—to communicate simultaneously. The device also integrates with video solutions, paving the way for Video Assistant Referee (VAR) implementation in Nigeria.

To demonstrate the technology’s effectiveness, Spintso AB donated a Refcom 11 Communication Gadget set, Spintso Referee Watches, red and yellow cards, and a set of flags courtesy of international referee equipment manufacturer B&B.

NFRA President, Hon. Sani Zubairu (FIFA Rtd.), welcomed the partnership, describing it as a strategic move to elevate Nigerian refereeing standards domestically and internationally. He expressed gratitude to NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, and General Secretary Dr. Sanusi Mohammed for their unwavering support.

Deputy NFRA President, Sir Kelechi Mejuobi, alongside referees from the FCT Referees Council and Mallam Nasiru Ibrahim from the NFF Referees Unit, participated in an online interactive session with Spintso AB representatives in Sweden.

The session provided further insights into the company’s officiating technology and included a live demonstration of the Refcom 11 Communication Gadget.

A field test of the Refcom 11 system was conducted during a mock match and the FCT FA Cup at the Goal Project, with referees expressing satisfaction, describing it as a significant upgrade from their previous tools.
