Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have promised a hitch-free Africa Cup of nations qualifier between the Super Eagles and Mediterranean Knights of Libya in Uyo this Saturday.
The NFF pledge was issued on Friday by general-secretary of the soccer governing body, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, who declared that no stone will be left unturned to ensure the match goes peacefully and successfully.
Sanusi said, while the NFF are working to ensure victory for the Eagles on Saturday, they will not overlook issues like crowd control, security and welfare of visitors during the 2019 AFCON qualifier in Uyo.
Already, Akwa Ibom State government, hosts and sponsors of the match, have announced that fans will pay half the gate fee to watch the Eagles take on Libya in the first-leg of back-to-back qualifiers.
The state government slashed the gate fees to allow fans turn out en masse and support the Nigerian team to victory at Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
While speaking to sport247.ng on the NFF’s for the match, Sanusi added that everything that is needed on and off the pitch has already been put in place.
Sanusi added: “We have put in place all logistics, to avoid any loophole in this weekend’s clash.”
