Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, the President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), has provided reassurance to Nigerians regarding the issue concerning the Super Eagles coach, Sports247 reliably reports.
Gusau emphasized that steps are being taken to ensure there will be no delay in the process.
Speaking on the matter, Gusau outlined plans to appoint the same coach for both the Super Eagles and the CHAN Eagles.
This strategic decision aims to give the coach more time with players from the Nigerian league and facilitate a seamless transition into the Super Eagles squad.
“I want to make it clear that the coach we appoint for the Super Eagles must also manage the Chan Eagles.
This approach will allow for greater cohesion between the two teams and increase the representation of home-based players in the Senior National Team,” Gusau stated.
Highlighting the importance of continuity, Gusau emphasized the need for the Super Eagles coach to also oversee the CHAN Eagles.
He expressed confidence that this approach will meet the expectations of Nigerians and enhance the performance of the national teams.
“We have upcoming CHAN Eagles qualification matches scheduled for September in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
We must appoint a coach capable of managing both teams effectively. By providing this opportunity, we aim to fulfil the expectations of Nigerians and strengthen our home base,” Gusau concluded.
Gusau’s remarks underscore the NFF’s commitment to optimizing the management structure of the national teams and promoting the development of Nigerian football at all levels.
