The seminar was declared open by Alhaji Sharif Rabiu Inuwa, Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, who represented NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau.

The resource person for the one-day event was Professor A. A. Musa Garba of the Department of Sports Management, Bayero University, Kano.

Speaking to thenff.com, Chairman of the NFF Match Commissioners’ Appointment Committee, Alhaji Babagana Kalli, highlighted the seminar’s significance. Secretary of the Committee, Danlami Alanana, explained that the program aimed to familiarize match commissioners from the Nigeria National League (NNL), Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), and Nationwide League One (NLO) with the fundamentals and nuances of match reporting.

“Accurate and credible match reporting is critical, as organizers depend on these reports to make informed decisions, particularly in instances of crises or controversies,” Alanana stated.

The seminar builds on the success of the previous year’s northern conference seminar held in Kano. The southern conference seminar for 2024 was earlier hosted in Asaba, Delta State.

The NFF reaffirmed its commitment to continuous capacity-building initiatives to ensure the smooth operation and integrity of Nigerian football.
