The Secretariat of Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC), was a beehive of activities this Wednesday as the newly elected chairman, Lagos State Football Association, Fuad Oki led other members to 96, Ogunlana drive as celebration continues.
Staunch grassroot football development expert and owner of 36 Lion Football Club, Liameed Olawale Gafar who was elected Vice Chairman of the Lagos FA was also in attendance, alongside other newly elected Board Members.
The National President of ANFASSC, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi who couldn’t hide his excitement, congratulated the triumphant team and expressed confidence that Football in Lagos is safe in the hands of the newly elected executives.
He said “Firstly, I congratulate Mr. Chairman, Mr. Vice Chairman and other board members on behalf of everyone at ANFASSC, it was obvious that the choice of the electorate is in tandem with what football stakeholders want in Lagos, the celebration across board says it all”
“I’m quite optimistic that football development is number one in your agenda and I know your emergence will further propel the round leather game in Lagos to an enviable height”.
Prince Ogunjimi charged the Fuad Oki led Lagos FA to build on the successes recorded by the previous administration led by former first Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, he noted that football development is a continuum, he also gave kudos to the immediate past administration for contributing its quota to remodeling football in Lagos.
“I must also commend the Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi led board, the enabling environment paved way for what we have today, and we are proud of their achievement”
The ANFASSC Supremo assured the new Lagos FA team of the club’s unflinching support, he also called for swift collaboration that will continue to put Football in Lagos on the World map, while charging the newly elected football administrators to put up new innovations, and float ideas that will in no small measure add quality to Football in Lagos.
In his remark, the newly elected chairman of Lagos FA, Fuad Oki appreciated ANFASSC and charged the supporters Club to do more in the area of influencing crowd to domestic match venues in Nigeria.
He said the Supporters Club has what it takes to change the narratives of low turnout at league venues by colourfully attracting spectators, and also marching in large numbers to stadia across the the country
