The newly appointed chairman of Adamawa United Football Club Mr Emmanuel Zira believes that it is a new dawn in sports administration in the country with Mr. Sunday Dare as the Minister of Youth and Sports Development.
According to one of foremost football administrators in Adamawa state with vast knowledge in the sector, “Sunday Dare no doubt is paving a formidable track for others to follow after him. I am really impressed with his prioritizing of athletes’ welfare. The Adoption Campaign, Athletes Trust Fund are laudable initiatives. The latest by way of reaching out to the families of our past heroes who died a long time ago, taking it upon himself to extend a hand of friendship through financial gifts, monthly stipends and food items to the mothers of late Rashidi Yekini, Sam Okwaraji, as well late Sunday Bada who represented Nigeria in the 4 x 400 relay team that won silver for Nigeria at the Sydney Olympic Games. Indeed I am proud of the Minister.
“In the area of youth development which is another mandate the Minister has awoken because before now, most Ministers concentrated on sports and abandoned the second mandate. The numerous youth trainings under his watch is the high point for me and several partnerships with youth driven corporate organizations changes the narratives of idleness for the youth. So far so good to me, he has really done well and I pray for divine wisdom for him to have a successful tenure with long lasting acheivement to his credit as Minister”.
