The finals of the Ughelli Preseason Cup 2020 came to a fantastic end as first timers at this preseason, Fc Izam of Jos defeated Nigeria’s Nation-wide League one and last year Bet9ja Football Compitition finalist hosted in Delta State, Rolly Fc of Benin 1nil to take home the converted trophy.
FC Izam of Jos enroute to the finals conceded only one goal. They where tip favorite to win the trophy due to their free flow and attacking style of play. The Jos side gave the Ndubuisi Okosieme tutored side Rolly fc a tough time to play their own game.
The only goal came from the booth of Fc Izam 16year old Alagua who was adjudged the best player of the tournament. Rolly Fc almost came back in the game but the Jos boys stood their ground to see out the game to emerge winners of this year Ughelli Preseason Cup 2020.
Speaking to the media after the game, the Chairman of FC Izam of Jos, commended the organisers for a job well done. He was quite happy that the game was leaved up to expection from both teams.
Special dignitaries at the event, were Warri Wolves Chairman Moses Etu, Delta State Football Association Chairman, Mr. Kenneth Nwaomoucha, Board Members, Delta State SWAN Chairman Mr. Azuka Chiemeka and a host Ex-players where in attendance.
The Chief Organisers, Coach Onome James appreciated all participating teams for showing good sportsmanship during and after the compitition. He particularly thanked the Executive Chairman of the Delta State Sport Commission Mr.Tony Okowa, the Chairman of Ughelli North, Hon Chief Adode, Warri Wolves Chairman, Moses Etu, Delta State Football Association Chairman, Mr. Kenneth Nwaomoucha, Delta State SWAN Chairman Azuka Chiemeka and others for supporting this laudable football event.
The organisers has taken a step further to unveil the 11th Edition of the Ughelli Preseason 2021 banner in loving memory of the Late Sport Icon, Prince Anthony Obaseki.
