The newly appointed chairman of Bayelsa United Football Club Mr.Ebiki Timitimi has dedicated his appointment to God
Mr. Timitimi who was accompanied by new board members and players of Bayelsa United FC to Royal House of Grace, Yenagoa, said his aspiration as chairman was to return the club to the Nigeria Professional Football League, describing his appointment as a miracle.
While thanking Governor Douye Diri for the opportunity given to him to serve as chairman, he noted that his success story was incomplete without Prince Ebitimi Amgbare who encouraged him to combine sports and education.
He urged players to have long-term plans after football by combining their career with education, pointing out that the career of many players have been cut short due to their inability to prepare for life after retirement.
The former Bayelsa Queens chairman lauded his predecessors and the technical adviser for putting the team in the right shape before his arrival, stating that with collective efforts Bayelsa United would return to the NPFL.
He assured Bayelsans that Bayelsa United would return to the elite division at the end of the current Nigeria National League campaign.
Bayelsa United will kick start the second stanza of the NNL season away to J’Atete next month at the Otujeremi stadium.
