Nduka Junior Focused On Second Leg As Remo Stars Eye Progress In CAF Champions League

Remo Stars captain, Nduka Junior, is already looking ahead to the crucial second leg against AS FAR of Morocco after his team secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.

Despite his early goal and the team’s advantage, Nduka knows the job is far from finished as they prepare to face a daunting challenge in Morocco.

Nduka Junior opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a powerful header, perfectly set up by Ismail Sodiq’s pinpoint cross. The goal set the tone for Remo Stars, who fought hard to maintain their lead despite AS FAR’s equalizer early in the second half. Sodiq Ismail restored the lead in the 60th minute, giving the Nigerian side a slender advantage to take into the return leg.

As Remo Stars prepare for the second leg on Sunday, August 25th, Nduka emphasized the importance of staying focused.

“The victory today was vital, but we know the job isn’t done yet,” he said.

“Going to Morocco with a one-goal lead means we must stay sharp and carry the same winning mentality that got us here. The atmosphere there will be intense, and we’ll be up against not just their team, but their fans as well.”

Nduka acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead, particularly the pressure of playing away in a hostile environment.

“We expect a tough game in Morocco. It’s going to be a real test of our character and resilience. Our coach has instilled in us the belief that we can win anywhere, but we need to stay disciplined and united as a team,” he added.

The second leg in Morocco is set to kick off at 9 PM, and Remo Stars will need to hold firm to advance in the CAF Champions League.

With Nduka Junior leading by example, the Nigerian side will be aiming to complete the job and make a statement on the continental stage.
