Remo Stars captain, Nduka Junior, expressed his relief and determination following their 2-1 victory over Kano Pillars on Saturday in the NPFL.
Junior emphasized the importance of the win, acknowledging that their season would have been at risk without securing these essential points.
“First of all, I would say if we had not won the game on Saturday against Kano Pillars, which we won 2-1, the season would be over for us,” Junior stated.
“At this point in time, we must not drop any points because we know where we are on the log. It’s like we’re stepping on a nail. We are aware of those behind us and those ahead of us.”
Junior highlighted the team’s resilience and never-give-up attitude, which has been a hallmark of their season.
“I never lose hope or faith because ever since we started this season, we always come from behind to get the victory.
It started against Rangers in our first league game at home and continued from there. I have infinite hope in my boys because there is this resilience in us—never-say-die spirits until the very end.”
With four more games to go, Junior is confident that Remo Stars can continue to push hard until the final match of the season.
“We have four more games to go. We’re looking forward to pushing hard until the last, the 38th game of the season. It is not over until it is over.”
The captain’s optimistic outlook and faith in his team’s fighting spirit underscore the phase of their campaign as they aim to secure their position on the NPFL league table as they sit third on the log.
