Alabama Track and Field athlete, Nigeria’s Isaac Odugbesan landed a big throw to finish third in men’s shot put finals at the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the United States.
Isaac’s throw of 20.48m saw him to finish 3rd in the men’s Shot Put final at the NCAA Championships behind University of Texas’s Adrian Piperi who led from the start with 21.52m while Turner Washington of Arizona State University made a new SB of 21.05m to finish 2nd.
Heading into the final round of throws, Isaac’s 20.48m throw saw him place second till Turner Washington pulled a strong throw to push him down to 3rd which still saw Isaac post a career-best finish at the NCAA Track & Field Championships.
Isaac Odugbesan is has also now become a First Team Shot Put All-America both indoors and outdoors in 2022. His third-place finish is Alabama’s best shot put finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships since Hreinn Halldorsson also took third in 1980.
