A new 9.93s at the NCAA Championships has officially put Godson Brume in Nigeria’s elite league of sub-10s runners.
At the NCAA Championships, Godson Brume became the fourteenth fastest Nigerian sprinter in history after he won his stacked 100m semifinal in 9.93 seconds.
As a result, the Louisiana State University sophomore broke his previous Personal Best (PB) of 10.04s, surpassed the World Championships qualifying standard of 10.00s, and is now the school’s second-fastest sprinter.
Ashe had earlier clocked a personal best and sub-10s of 9.96s to win his race and qualify for the final. Udodi Onwuzurike also advanced with 10.04s to finish fourth behind Brume.
Three Nigerian sprinters will compete in the 100m final at the NCAA Championships, and all have good chances of medaling.
