NCAA: Favour Ashe Blazes to New Personal Best to Secure Spot in NCAA Championships and World Championships 100m Final

During the NCAA Championships, Favour Ashe clocked a lifetime best, tying his school record, and exceeding the World Championships qualifying standard.

At the NCAA Championships, Nigeria’s fastest man, Favour Ashe, clocked a new Personal Best (PB) time of 9.96s to win his semifinal heat and qualify for the final.

Ashe achieved this by smashing his previous PB of 9.99s set during last year’s Nigerian trials.

Also, he has qualified for the World Championships in Budapest, surpassing the automatic qualifying mark of 10.00.

As a sophomore student at Auburn University, he had a perfect start and cruised to the finish line without exerting too much effort, which meant he still had more left to give.

He finished ahead of Texas Tech’s Courtney Lindsey in 10.03s and Robert Gregory in 10.04s.

In the NCAA final, Ashe will try to improve on his silver medal from last year and second place finish at the South Eastern Conference (SEC) Championships by winning the title and becoming the fastest man in the country.
