Babatunde Ogunade, the Vice President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), has expressed optimism regarding the prospects of Nigeria’s male basketball team, D’Tigers, advancing to the next round of the Afrobasket Qualifiers.
Ogunade emphasized the absence of the danger of not advancing in the qualifiers and conveyed confidence in the team’s abilities.

Speaking on the team’s participation in the qualifiers in Tunisia, Ogunade highlighted the importance of seizing the opportunity to compete and the significance of future qualification windows.

“There are many other windows. Going there to take part or participate gives us a fighting chance to qualify for the AfroBasket and I think for the World Cup,” Ogunade stated optimistically.
“But first things first, the AfroBasket. Then we take it from there.”
Ogunade underscored the importance of participating in the current qualification window to maintain Nigeria’s competitive edge and increase their chances of qualifying for future tournaments.
He stressed the need to strengthen the team and enhance their preparedness for upcoming competitions.
“What we have to do is strengthen our team and be more prepared going forward,” Ogunade concluded, highlighting the importance of continuous improvement and readiness for future challenges.
