NBA PLAYER PLEDGES HIS ALLEGIANCE TO THE D’TIGERS BASKETBALL TEAM OF NIGERIA

In the Slam N’ Dunk sport of Basketball, D’Tigers, the Senior National Men Basketball team of Nigeria will have their squad bolstered as a NBA player declares his intention to serve his fatherland.

His name is Spencer Dinwiddie, a 27 years professional Basketball player who plays the position of point guard for the Brooklyn Nets.

Born to a Nigerian father named, Malcolm Dinwiddle, Spencer in the current NBA campaign has recorded 20.6 points, 6.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds this season.

Dinwiddle has declared his intention to acquire a Nigerian passport since he did not receive any official invite from USA Olympic team despite finishing 10th in the All-Star voting for NBA Eastern Conference guards and recording a career high of 41 points in December 2019.

D’Tigers National team coach, Mike Brown now has option of lots of experienced NBA players to select apart from Dinwiddle.

The players include Al-Farouq Aminu, Josh Okogie, Chimezie Metu and Ekpe Udoh.

Dinwiddie played professionally in the NBA for the Detroit Pistons in the second round of the 2014 NBA draft.

After a spell of two seasons with the Detroit Pistons, he joined the Beooklyn Nets in December 2016.

With strings of stellar performance, Dinwiddle signed a three-year contract extension with the Brooklyn Nets in December 2018.

With this move to acquire a Nigerian passport, Dinwiddle will be eligible to play for the D’Tigers Basketball Team of Nigeria who have qualified for the 2021 Summer Olympics as the top-placed African team in the 2019 FIBA World Cup
