The resumption date for the commencement of the second half of the 2021/2022 season of the Nationwide League One(NLO) which is the third level of club football in Nigeria, has been shifted from the initial date of Monday 31th May, 2022 to Wednesday 8th June, 2022.
Recall that a two weeks break was announced by the organisers of NLO on Monday 16th May, 2022 in order for players to rest and for clubs to reinforce new additions to prosecute the remainder of the season.
The organisers of the league have now announced another one week extension to the break in letter signed by NLO Chief Operating Officer, Olushola Ogunnowo, addressed to all clubs in the division, NFF Match Commissioner Appointment Committee and FF Referees Appointment Committee.
It was stated in the letter that extension was important to enable clubs to complete outstanding matches that have been stalled by change in some public activities within the country.
The letter reads:
“RESUMPTION OF NATIONWIDE LEAGUE DIVISION ONE FROM WEDNESDAY 8TH JUNE 2022.
The Nationwide League One Secretariat hereby wishes to inform all the Division One League Clubs that the resumption from the league break has been shifted to Wednesday 8th June 2022.
This was necessitated due to change in some public activities within the country and to enable clubs to conclude their outstanding matches. Sequel to above, the Nationwide League Secretariat hereby appeals to all the clubs to ensure a high level of decorum during the final lap of the league.”
FC Robo will take on Gbagada FC; Smart City FC will slug it out against Magic Stars FC; Synergy ULT Sport FC will play Zenith Emperor FC while Messiah FC will face Iganmu FC for the Week 10 matches slated for the resumption day.
