The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA) during its recent meeting approved the establishment of a Development Fund to cater for the welfare of the Nigeria Football Coaches.
This was made known in a press statement by the President of the Association, Isa Ladan Bosso. He said that the Development Fund among other things is meant to cater for some of the needs of Coaches while in active service or out of service.
In view of the risks and uncertainties that are characteristics of the job especially in Nigeria, the Association decided to start this initiative as a way of contributing effectively to the welfare of its members with the fund aimed at providing benefits and incentives such as insurance cover, medical assistance, soft loans, training and retraining, empowering of members through acquisition of entrepreneurial skills, among others.
The National Working Committee also also appointed a firm, Grassroot Sports and Marketing Limited as Consultant to facilitate the effective and efficient management of the Nigeria Football Coaches Development Fund. The Consultants have been asked to swing into action immediately to ensure the take off and success of the project.
