The Chairperson of Nasarawa Amazons Football Club, Hajiya Hussaina Suleiman Nagogo, has charged players of the club to put their last 2-1 defeat to Edo Queens in Benin City, Edo State, behind them and set focus on winning their remaining games to book a spot in the Super Six and possibly clinch the 2021/22 Nigeria Women Football League Premiership title.
The chairperson stated this while addressing the players shortly after suffering their first loss of the new campaign in Benin City.
According to Hajiya Hussaina, “It was a good game and great good efforts from you, even though the result was not in our favour.
“We are very proud of your performance and it’s an indication that you will make amends and return to winning ways immediately.”
The Chairperson enjoined the players never to be distracted by the defeat but rather do what they are known for, which is winning.
“Leave that result behind you. It’s gone, and what remains now is to take each game with the right attitude and approach.
“You have the full support of the Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, the State Government as well as the Management of the Club.
“We believe in you, and we are sure you all will make us and the State proud at the end of the season”, she concluded.
4th-placed Nasarawa Amazons, with six points, will face fellow Group ‘A’ and 5th-placed visiting Adamawa Queens, with three points, at the Lafia City Stadium on Wednesday, next week, in the matchday five fixture.
