Nasarawa United of Lafia coach, Kabir Sulyman Dogo says his team’s exit from the Federation Cup was a a very painful loss, considering that his side were leading 2-0 at a point in the semi-final clash against Rangers International of Enugu.
Speaking in the wake of his side’s 4-2 loss in Kano, Dogo told sports247.ng that it was a rude shock and huge disappointment for him, but added that his lads gave their best in the game.
Dogo expressed deep pain in the manner of his team’s exit, after his side blew away a two-goal lead, but said in a chat with sports247.ng that it was due to overconfidence by his boys.
Dogo recalled: “My boys played well, but they were overconfident. After going ahead 2-0, they thought we had won the game, but that was what led to our the defeat.
“It was a painful way to lose, considering how we led at a point. At the same time, I am disappointed that I did not get the opportunity to make up for Nasarawa United’s Federation Cup final defeat of two years ago.”
