In a fiercely contested match-day two clash of the 2023/24 Nigeria National League (NNL), Nasarawa United held EFCC FC to a goalless draw, solidifying their position at the top of Group C.
The encounter took place at the Old Parade Ground Football Field, Abuja, where Nasarawa United, also known as the Solid Miners, demonstrated their determination to make a significant impact in the current NNL campaign.
Fresh from a 1-0 victory over Zamfara United, Nasarawa United sought to capitalize on the home team’s recent 5-0 defeat against Wikki Tourists.
The match saw both teams launching attacks from the start, with EFCC FC displaying an early threat.
Nasarawa United’s Mukhtar Musa responded with a shot from range, testing the skills of former United goalkeeper David Yinka.
The first half witnessed several attempts, including a free-kick from Manga Mohammed that narrowly missed the crossbar.

In the second half, tactical changes were made, but neither team could break the deadlock. Chinedu Ohanachom and Ham Danjuma of Nasarawa United made several goal attempts, but the opposition’s defence remained resolute.
The stalemate secured Nasarawa United’s top spot in Group C, with four points from two games.

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee Chairman on Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Garba Mohammed Tsimbabi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi, Chairman of Nasarawa State Football Association, Salisu Galadima (Basira), and other dignitaries were also present.
Nasarawa United’s next challenge awaits them against border neighbors, Mighty Jets FC of Jos, at the Lafia City Stadium on Saturday, 2nd December 2023.
