Nasarawa United displayed resilience in the face of adversity as they continue to lead the charge in Group C of the Nigeria National League, despite a narrow 2-1 loss to Wikki Tourists FC at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, during match-day 6 of the 2023/24 League campaign.
The hosts, Wikki Tourists FC, took an early lead in the 10th minute from the spot after a foul on Sam Aremu Owolabi inside the box.

The Big Elephants extended their advantage just before halftime, again capitalizing on a penalty converted by Sam Aremu Owolabi.
Nasarawa United showcased resilience and determination, pulling one back in the 72nd minute.
A well-crafted free-kick from Moyi Hassan found substitute Anas Yusuf, who delivered a precise cross to Chinedu Ohanachom. Ohanachom’s header found the back of the net, beating the Wikki goalkeeper, Michael.
Despite further efforts by both teams to alter the scoreline, Nasarawa United succumbed to their second loss of the 2023/24 League campaign.
However, the loss did not impact Nasarawa United’s standing in Group C, as they continue to top the table with ten points and a plus-two goal advantage.
Wikki Tourists FC, now with nine points and a plus-six goals advantage, closed the gap but remains in the second position.
The Solid Miners will have a brief respite from league action until Saturday, 13th January 2024, when they are scheduled to face NAF FC of Abuja.
