Nasarawa United halted Rivers United’s impressive run of form as they came from behind to draw 1-1 at regulation time before winning 6-5 on penalties.
The game came to life as substitute Fortune Omoniwari latched on to Doumbia Zoumana’s lob to put Rivers United ahead.
Nasarawa United equally responded when Abubakar Lawal was at the end of Deneng Titos’ pass to riffle home the equalizer.
Danlami Umar was the hero as his saves ensured that Nasarawa United secured a semi final place.
Meanwhile, Nasarawa United await the winner between Rarara Academy and Kwara United in the semi final on Tuesday.
